Rachel was born and lived in Sudbury (Northern Ontario) until her move to Ottawa after her retirement in 2015.

 

As a self-taught artist she dabbled with various mediums until she was introduced to oils, her medium of choice. Her paintings’ subjects vary as an emotional response to both personal and travel, nature, her family and friends and her vivid imagination.

​Working primarily in oils, Rachel is drawn to subjects that allow her to translate feeling and memory into carefully observed scenes.
