Flowers as Nature’s Art grew from a place of grief and a desire to create something meaningful. The flower photo cards began as a tribute to Barbara's mother, who passed away from ovarian cancer.

 

Gardening—especially flowers—was a shared passion, learned side by side, and photographing blooms became a way to honour her memory through beauty, observation, and care. Proceeds from card sales have been donated to Ovarian Cancer Canada since 2007.

Over time, the photography expanded to include Ottawa and its iconic landmarks and everyday scenes, reflecting a deep appreciation for place, nature, and the quiet details that connect us.
