Original acrylic on gallery canvas. It was a brilliant day, and mild as long as you were out of the wind. Like a number of others out celebrating spring, I wandered around the Mer Bleue bog. To be honest, “around” is a little exaggeration. I only made it part way along on the board walk. Snapped a few pictures, hands in gloves but still cold. The wind coming from the East over the length of the mostly ice free open water was too much for me. Measures 22" x 28" unframed.

Fall is a favourite with its burst of colour, especially the mild days when walks like this are calm and peaceful. Hear the crunch of the leaves underfoot and smell the rich scent of the leaves turning into mulch. After the buzzy, busy summer, fall is a brief respite. Its a time to linger on days like this and reflect on another year coming to an end. Measures 30" x 24" unframed

Original acrylic on gallery canvas. This picture is an amalgam of fond memories, like a warm, comforting vegetable soup in the fall with lots of vegetables and a slice of homemade bread on the side. It records fun walks at Mer Bleue, feeding the chickadees (much easier in the winter than summer). It also reminisces walks along the escarpment trail in our neighbourhood. We called it the Buddy trail after our first dog. Measures 22" x 28" unframed.

None of us is immune from personal hurts and challenges in life and today it seems more than ever. The steady deep freeze has given way to March weather: waves of warmer days punctuated by cold snaps. I am more than ready for the fresh greens of spring and the smells and sounds of nature coming back to life. Measures 24" x 30" unframed
