Julie Poulin

Julie is an impressionistic landscape pastelist and oil painter. She paints en plein air (on locations) during Ottawa’s four seasons. She applies the principles and elements of art in her paintings such as composition, line, colour temperature, value, etc.

She is the founder of the Ottawa Plein Air Painters where she leads the group through the joys of plein air painting.

She teaches art to beginners and advanced artists during her non-painting time.

French Villa by the Lavender Field - $800

Original pastel on paper. This one was painted from a small study I painted while standing in the lavender field in Provence, France. No words can properly explain how it felt to have the heat hit you and surround you, punctuated by the song of the cicadas. It was the song of Heaven. Measures 20.5" x 24.5" x 1.5" framed.
